Intec Telecom Systems PLC - Appointment of new non-executive Director
• Telecom industry executive Thomas Ivarson of LogicaCMG joins Intec board
London, 30 September 2003 - The Board of Intec Telecom Systems PLC ("Intec" or
"the Company"), a leading provider of telecoms Operations Support Systems
("OSS"), is pleased to announce that Mr. Thomas Ivarson, an Executive Vice
President at LogicaCMG plc, has agreed to join the Board as a non-executive
Director. Mr. Ivarson was for six years CEO and President of EHPT Group, during
which time this business was a strong competitor for Intec, and before that
spent fifteen years at Ericsson in its telecoms business. Mr. Ivarson thus
brings a wealth of high-level telecoms industry experience to Intec.
Current non-executive Director Gordon Crawford of London Bridge Software plc,
who has been on Intec's Board since its flotation in June 2000, steps down at
his request having completed his three years' service. The Board of Intec
Telecom Systems wishes to thank Gordon for his exceptional service and guidance
to the company during the past three years.
"Intec has developed tremendously since its flotation, becoming a true market
leader in the OSS industry," says Ivarson, who is a member of LogicaCMG's
Executive Committee, in addition to his operational responsibilities in its
wireless networks business. "I am pleased to accept Intec's invitation to join
the Board as I believe this is a high-quality business with strong standards for
corporate governance, financial discipline and a market-oriented approach that
has brought it considerable success at a difficult time for the telecoms
industry."
Intec Telecom Systems PLC, which recently announced the acquisition of Denmark-
based OSS vendor Digiquant A/S, is a Business Partner to LogicaCMG with numerous
successful OSS projects completed together worldwide.
