The Carphone Warehouse shops with Intec for group-wide billing system
• Europe's leading independent communications retailer upgrades billing as
it challenges national incumbents for market leadership
London, April 28, 2005 - Intec, a global provider of business and operations
support systems (BSS/OSS), announced today the signing of a multi-million Pound
license and services agreement for Intec's award-winning billing solution,
Singl.eViewTM, with The Carphone Warehouse Group PLC, Europe's leading
independent mobile communications retailer.
The Carphone Warehouse, which currently provides fixed, mobile and broadband
products and services to over three million customers in 10 European markets
under the Carphone Warehouse and Phone House brands, is known as an innovative
challenger for customer market share. Its selection of a true Tier 1 billing
solution in Singl.eView underlines its ambition to compete at the highest level
with major telecoms providers.
"We are delighted to have won the billing business of the UK's most successful
communications retailer," said Intec CEO, Kevin Adams. "This was a competitive
bid in which The Carphone Warehouse required us to meet challenging project
timescale and technical objectives. It underlines the functionality,
configurability and cost-of-ownership benefits of Singl.eView in today's
highly-competitive, customer focused, convergent telecoms market."
Intec will initially supply The Carphone Warehouse with Singl.eView Convergent
Billing, Singl.eView Rating and Transaction Engine, Singl.eView Financial
Assurance and Inter-mediatE PREP, Intec's multi-service mediation system. Intec
will also provide a full range of professional services to implement and
configure Singl.eView to meet the customer's requirements.
