Intec signs deal for 14 sites with Cable & Wireless West Indies
- Adds InterconnecT ITU to existing Inter-mediatE installations
- Enables Cable & Wireless to efficiently manage interconnect settlements
throughout
West Indies based on ITU standards
February 5, 2002, London: Intec Telecom Systems and Cable & Wireless West Indies
today announced the signing of an OSS billing software agreement. Intec will
provide an integrated InterconnecT billing package to fourteen Cable & Wireless
Group Companies across the West Indies during the course of this year. This
will enable Cable & Wireless to maximise revenue by managing ITU-based
interconnection agreements and directly creating operator invoices in its
SAP-based financial systems.
'This agreement supports the drive by Cable & Wireless West Indies to establish
a strategic revenue assurance plan that is compatible with international
interconnect billing regulations set out by the International Telecommunications
Union (ITU),' says Lawrence Davies, Vice President of Carrier Services for Cable
& Wireless West Indies. Intec was selected by Cable & Wireless to extend its
existing InterconnecT billing license. 'Cable & Wireless was already using
Intec's InterconnecT and Inter-mediatETM solutions with excellent results,'
explains Davies. 'We were impressed with their performance and flexibility and
wanted to extend these capabilities across the West Indies.'
The package includes Intec's InterconnecT ITU solution, which combines
InterconnecT functionality with ITU settlement recommendations to give Cable &
Wireless fast and accurate results in settling ITU based charges.
InterconnecT's capabilities will be further enhanced by InterconnecT SAP. This
solution is an additional module to InterconnecT that will allow Cable &
Wireless to export billing information from InterconnecT into certain modules of
SAP, which will then be used for bill production, payment tracking and all
related financial activities including handling tax.
Kevin Adams, Intec's CEO said 'Intec sees this deal as recognition of its
extensive experience and capability in the global OSS business. Cable & Wireless
is a prestigious client and we will work closely with them to deliver the
billing capabilities they need for maximising the revenues from their network
investment.'
