Intec signs major multi-product deal with REACH in Asia
• Leading Asian carrier selects InterconnecT, InterconnecT ITU and
InterconnecT PREP
London/Hong Kong/Sydney: Intec Telecom Systems, a global leader in Operations
Support Systems (OSS) for the telecommunications industry, today announced a
major billing software deal with REACH, Asia's largest international wholesale
carrier of combined voice, IPLC and IP data services. After an extensive
evaluation of other product vendors REACH selected Intec's award-winning
InterconnecTTM and InterconnecTTM ITU billing software and Intec's InterconnecT
PREPTM mediation pre-processor to replace two legacy systems currently used for
intercarrier billing management.
Commenting on the deal, Barbar Mennah, Director of Voice Services with REACH
said, "Intec's solutions are an important part of our Voice Service Management
Project. Our aim is to phase out the use of our two existing billing legacy
systems in Hong Kong and Australia, which are cost-prohibitive to maintain and
do not allow the regional sites to work as one centralised accounting unit.
Intec's solutions will help streamline the billing process and lower costs by
enabling us to use the same platform for both sites to run our global
interconnect billing activities."
The flexibility of Intec's rating and billing products gives REACH a competitive
edge in the market . InterconnecT offers the performance required by REACH to
handle large volumes of data and manage complex intercarrier partnerships with
one system. Furthermore, InterconnnecT can bill for any service or combination
of services. This billing flexibility is essential for REACH which offers an
extensive range of wholesale voice, data, bandwidth, satellite and Internet
services to other carriers and service providers in Asia and around the world.
"We expect the processing of our customer requirements to be made easier with
Intec's solutions," continued Mennah. "Their low cost of ownership and ease of
integration with other applications will not only provide us with improved
operability and enhanced revenue streams but also improve our management of
regional and global interconnect standards."
REACH is required to comply with many interconnect regulations, including those
in Australia, the UK and Hong Kong, which are easily supported by Intec's
advanced billing technology. InterconnecT ITU provides REACH with the additional
capability of rating calls for international voice traffic in compliance with
the complex tariff regulations imposed by the International Telecommunications
Union (ITU). This is a crucial business requirement for REACH as it is one of
the world's top ten carriers of international voice traffic.
Intec's InterconnecT PREP will support the company's billing transactions by
serving as a mediation pre-processor tool for the InterconnecT solutions. It
will be configured to take data from REACH's existing mediation platform and
prepare the information for InterconnecT billing processing.
"We are extremely pleased to have signed this deal with REACH, one of the
biggest wholesale communication providers in the world," said Kevin Adams,
Intec's CEO. "The win recognises our expertise in replacing legacy systems with
the best billing technology in the marketplace. With regional support from
Intec's Centre of Excellence in Malaysia and our sales support office in
Australia, REACH will gain the necessary integration and maintenance expertise
to ensure the timely completion of this billing project."
