INTERCEDE GROUP plc
('Intercede' or 'the Group')
Confirmation of ActivCard as OEM Partner
Intercede, a leading developer of electronic identity management software, today
provides further information regarding its agreement with ActivCard, a world
leader in digital identity technology.
On 7 December 2001, Intercede Group plc (IGP LN) (IGP.L), a leading developer of
electronic identity management software, announced that it had signed a new OEM
contract with an unnamed US partner. This agreement included a commitment by the
Partner to buy an initial number of licences for Intercede's edeficeTM , to the
value of US$800,000, against a series of development milestones that were
scheduled for completion by March 2002.
Intercede is now able to announce that this partner is ActivCard, a NASDAQ
listed digital identity company with headquarters in Silicon Valley, Paris and
Singapore. Intercede also confirms that all of the agreed development milestones
have been met and that full payment of the US$800,000 was received by Intercede
from ActivCard by 31 March 2002. Having due regard for current market concerns
about revenue recognition, the accounting treatment of the US$800,000 will be
determined as part of the year end audit process.
ActivCard will be launching a suite of products incorporating Intercede's
edeficeTM technology at CardTech/SecurTech, a leading smart card technology
exhibition, which is being held this week in New Orleans.
