     edefice(TM) 6.0 enables organisations to rapidly deploy, maintain and

announced the release of edefice(TM) 6.0, a smart card and public key
infrastructure ('PKI') security management solution, for corporate enterprises
and government customers. edefice(TM) 6.0 incorporates new features which are
designed to enable business managers to easily administer the life cycle of
smart cards and associated PKI credentials through a distributed web based
management system.

The key benefits and features of edefice(TM) 6.0 are set out below:

-    edefice(TM), through its web based security console, enables
     corporate smart cards and PKI certificates to be securely issued to staff  
     by authorized managers from any workstation equipped with a smart card     
     reader.

-    edefice(TM) is one of the first smart card management systems
     to be fully integrated with Baltimore and Microsoft PKI-enabled Windows
     environments. edefice(TM) removes the complexity of PKI systems and        
     replaces it with an intuitive interface that any end-user and manager can  
     efficiently use.

-    edefice(TM) has a customizable and patented workflow-based
     architecture which enables companies to implement their own security       
     policies independent of third party suppliers.

-    edefice(TM) enables smart cards and tokens to be used in any
     combination to provide secure, manageable authenticated access to all      
     physical and IT resources.

-    edefice(TM) streamlines the logon process to IT systems by
     replacing multiple usernames and passwords with an efficient single sign-on
     mechanism.

One of edefice's greatest strengths is its product independence. It can
simultaneously support multiple smart card manufacturers and PKI products
within a single fully distributed network environment. The technical
competitive advantage of edefice(TM) is validated through its selection by
Oberthur Card Systems, under a global OEM licence, as the smart card
management system for their AuthentIC family, and by a recent contract award
from a major European Bank.
