            INTERNATIONAL BIOTECHNOLOGY TRUST PLC (the 'Company')

Application will be made on 28 December 2000 to the London Stock Exchange and
the UK Listing Authority for the listing of 3,985,334 ordinary shares of 25
pence each fully paid in the Company. The shares were allotted and issued
under sections 80 and 95(disapplication of pre-emption provisions) of the
Companies Act 1985.
