INTERNATIONAL BIOTECHNOLOGY TRUST PLC (the "Company")

Disclosure of Director/PDMR's purchase of the Company's shares

The Company was notified today of the following changes to Directors' and PDMR's shareholdings which took place on 28 February 2014:

Mr Jim Horsburgh, a Non-Executive Director of the Company, purchased 5,000 Ordinary 25p shares at a price of 330.94p per Ordinary share.  As a result of this purchase, Mr Horsburgh's aggregate holding of shares in the Company has increased to 10,000 Ordinary shares, representing 0.02% of the Company's issued share capital.

Ms Kate Bingham, a partner of the Company's Investment Manager, SV Life Sciences Managers LLP, purchased 7,647 Ordinary 25p shares at a price of 327p per Ordinary share.  As a result of this purchase, Ms Bingham's aggregate holding of shares in the Company has increased to 11,730 Ordinary shares, representing 0.02% of the Company's issued share capital.

Dr Carl Harald Janson, a partner of the Company's Investment Manager, SV Life Sciences Managers LLP, purchased 10,000 Ordinary 25p shares at a price of 332p per Ordinary share.  As a result of this purchase, Dr Janson's aggregate holding of shares in the Company has increased to 10,000 Ordinary shares, representing 0.02% of the Company's issued share capital.
