Portfolio Update

The Board of International Biotechnology Trust plc (the "Company") notes that a new unquoted investment has been made into Ophthotech Corp, a business located in New Jersey and New York, which is focused on developing and commercialising therapies for diseases of the back of the eye.

The Company invested $0.5m (£0.3m) in a milestone based two tranche $30.0m (£18.4m) Series B of financing.  A further $0.5m (£0.3m) is legally committed to the second tranche.
