Update on recent fire

Ideal Shopping Direct Plc (the 'Company' or 'Ideal Shopping Direct')

A previous announcement made on 7 March 2001 stated that a fire has
substantially destroyed the Company's TV studio, offices and warehouse
premises from which Ideal Shopping Direct has traded.

Since that time, the Company has been implementing its disaster recovery plan
whilst its insurers have been following their standard procedures.  The Loss
Assessors appointed by the Company have confirmed, on the basis of the
information that they have at this time, that the Company is fully insured.

The Directors intend to deliver a limited service in respect of both the Ideal
World home shopping channel and the catalogue business as soon as possible.
