National Digital Infrastructure Fund agrees further funding by new investors in Community Fibre
29 July 2020
International Public Partnerships Limited ('INPP', the 'Company'), the listed investment company which invests in global public infrastructure projects and businesses, notes Community Fibre Limited's ('Community Fibre') announcement today of an investment of up to £400 million by funds advised by Warburg Pincus LLC ('Warburg Pincus') and Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners ('DTCP'). The National Digital Infrastructure Fund ('NDIF'), in which INPP is invested, is an existing investor in Community Fibre.
The transaction involves a part realisation by NDIF of its investment to Warburg Pincus and DTCP. The terms of the transaction are confidential, and the proceeds realised will be retained by NDIF for reinvestment. The transaction reflects a positive return on NDIF's original investment and supports further growth for Community Fibre.
Community Fibre is an internet service provider rolling-out fibre optic broadband networks across London. INPP invested into Community Fibre through the National Digital Infrastructure Fund in 2018 to fund the roll-out of full-fibre connectivity to a further 100,000 homes covering social and private housing estates across London. Having successfully passed this milestone, Community Fibre today announces that it will accelerate the roll-out of full-fibre broadband to 1 million households by 2023, delivering critical digital infrastructure.
