Nigerian Contract Update


Intertek, the global testing, inspection and certification company, announces
that within the FTS division the suspension of the Nigerian contract reported in
our pre-close trading statement on 2nd December 2003 has been lifted. It is
expected work will be restored to normal levels by the start of February.


The longer term future of this contract remains uncertain and the restructuring
of the division will continue. The next update to the market will be when we
report Preliminary Results on 8th March 2004.
