As part of the dual listed company structure, Investec plc and Investec Limited
notify both the London Stock Exchange and the JSE Limited of matters which are
required to be disclosed under the Disclosure, Transparency and Listing Rules of
the United Kingdom Listing Authority (the 'UKLA') and/or the JSE Listing
Requirements.


Accordingly, we advise of the following:

           ADDITIONAL AND BLOCK LISTINGS PURSUANT TO THE ACQUISITION OF 
                      KENSINGTON GROUP PLC ('KENSINGTON')


The Scheme of Arrangement (the 'Scheme') to effect the acquisition by Investec
plc of the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Kensington received
High Court sanction on 07 August 2007. Following the registration by the
Registrar of Companies for England and Wales of an office copy of the Court
Order confirming the reduction of Kensington's capital the Scheme is now
effective.

Investec plc therefore announces that it has today issued in aggregate
37,449,427 new ordinary shares of GBP0.0002 each (the 'New Ordinary Shares') in
the share capital of Investec plc. The New Ordinary Shares comprise:

 1. an additional listing of 36,824,432 New Ordinary Shares to the Kensington
    holders as at the record date 07 August 2007; and
 2. a block listing of 624,995 New Ordinary Shares to the existing employee share
    schemes, the details of which were disclosed on 07 August 2007

The total number of issued shares in Investec plc is now 422,065,674.

Approval has been granted for the admission of the New Ordinary Shares to trade
on the London Stock Exchange and admission to the Official List (the 'Investec
plc Listings'), with effect from the 08 August 2007. The New Ordinary Shares
rank equally with the existing issued ordinary shares of Investec plc.
