ATTRIBUTABLE INTERESTS IN THE ORDINARY SHARE CAPITAL OF INVESTEC PLC AND INVESTEC LIMITED
As part of the dual listed company structure, Investec plc and Investec Limited notify both the London Stock Exchange and the JSE Limited of those interests (and changes to those interests) of (i) directors of both entities and the respective company secretaries, (ii) persons discharging managerial responsibilities (PDMRs) across the group, and (iii) in certain instances the directors of major subsidiaries of Investec Limited, in the securities of Investec plc and Investec Limited which are required to be disclosed under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules of the United Kingdom Listing Authority (the 'UKLA') and/or the JSE Listing Requirements.
The Company received notification on the 21st August 2009 of the following changes to attributable interests in the ordinary shares of Investec plc and Investec Limited:

Dealings by a Director of Investec plc and Investec Limited - Peter Malungani
In May 2003 Investec Limited announced the acquisition by various black economic empowerment ('BEE') parties of an interest in its issued ordinary shares. Peu Group Limited ('Peu') was one of the BEE parties being a wholly black-owned and managed investment holding company led by Mr Peter Malungani, a member of the board of directors of Investec Limited, Investec plc and Investec Bank Limited. Peu acquired 13,055,555 ordinary shares of which 7,728,890 were indirectly attributed to Peter Malungani. Peu has unwound a portion of its interests in Investec Limited by, inter alia, disposing of 7.5-million Investec Limited ordinary shares.
As a consequence of this transaction by Peu, the following information in relation to Mr. Malungani's indirect beneficial interests is disclosed in compliance with Rules 3.63 - 3.74 of the JSE Listing Requirements:
