Further announcement regading Investec plc's sale of it stake in Investec Bank
(Israel) Limited

Shareholders are referred to the announcement released on 30 July 2004 
regarding the sale by Investec plc of its 80.28% stake in 
Investec Bank (Israel) Limited ('the Bank') to The First International 
Bank of Israel ('FIBI').

Investec plc and FIBI have today agreed that the consideration, in terms of the
agreement, which FIBI will pay to Investec plc at the closing date is
approximately £45-million together with interest from 30 June 2004 to closing.
In accordance with the terms of the sale agreement, Investec plc has agreed in
respect of a number of debts to arrange before closing either for the repayment
of such debts to the Bank and/or to purchase such debts from the Bank and/or to
place collateral and indemnify the Bank regarding these and certain other
matters.
