Investec plc - Investor briefing


The management of Investec will host an investor briefing on Tuesday, 16 March
2004 commencing at 9:00 (UK time) 11:00 (South African time). A presentation
will be given, focusing on developments within the core business areas and the
group since Investec's interim results.

All interested parties may attend the investor briefing, the details of which
are as follows:

Date:              Tuesday, 16 March 2004

Time:              09:00 -10:30 (UK time); 11:00 - 12:30 (SA time)

Venue:             Via video conference from Investec's offices in Sandton (100
                   Grayston, Drive Sandown), Cape Town (36 Hans Strijdom Avenue, 
                   Foreshore) and London (2 Gresham Street, EC2V7QP).


Furthermore, for those people who are unable to attend the briefing, the
following options will be available:

• A toll free telephone conference facility.

• Summit TV will broadcast the presentation to all South African
  subscribers.

• A DELAYED webcasting of the presentation will be available on the
  Internet via www.investec.com.
