Investec plc - results presentation for the year ended 31 March 2004

Investec will release its results for the year-ended 31 March 2004 on the JSE
and LSE news services at 7:00 (UK time) on 27 May 2004. An analyst presentation
will take place at 11:00 (UK time).

All interested parties may attend the presentation, the details of which are as
follows:

Date: Thursday, 27 May 2004

Time: 11:00 -12:30 (UK time); 12:00 - 13:30 (SA time)

Venue: Via video link up from Investec's offices in Sandton (100 Grayston, Drive
Sandown), Cape Town (36 Hans Strijdom Avenue, Foreshore) and London (2 Gresham
Street, EC2V7QP).

Furthermore, for those people who are unable to attend the presentation, the
following options will be available:
