Investec plc - trading statement
As part of a dual listed company structure, all announcements required in terms of the rules of the JSE Securities
Exchange South Africa (JSE) and London Stock Exchange are released to both markets.
Investec is currently finalising its results for the six months to 30 September 2004, which will be released on 25
November 2004. In terms of paragraph 3.4 (b) of the JSE Listings Requirements, the Investec group is required to advise
shareholders that headline earnings per share for the consolidated group (incorporating the results of Investec plc and
Investec Limited) is likely to be 20%-30% higher than the corresponding period, as previously reported.
The forecast financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed and reported on by
the group's auditors in accordance with the JSE Listings Requirements.
