About Fiona MacAulay:
Fiona is a geologist by training with over 30 years varied experience with both major and independent oil companies including Mobil, Amerada Hess, BG (where she was responsible for the UK & International Exploration Operations Geology Group) and more recently Rockhopper Exploration and Echo Energy.
She initially trained with Mobil, working on North Sea projects in London and Aberdeen for five years, including some West of Shetlands activity, before moving to Amerada Hess to gain wider responsibilities. After working with Amerada Hess for a year, she followed the Exploration Manager to BG and was involved in their rapid, international expansion moves. Indeed, in her seven-year stay with BG, she worked in Bulgaria, Pakistan, Yemen, Russia, Vietnam, Trinidad and Singapore, holding increasingly more senior positions.
In 2010 Fiona joined Rockhopper where she was fully involved in all of the exploration activity, as well as fulfilling her Executive Director responsibilities following her appointment to the Board in March 2013. She was an integral member of the Rockhopper senior management team managing the exploration and appraisal of the Sea Lion field and subsequent satellite Fields in the Falklands.
More recently, Fiona has been appointed to the Board of Echo Energy plc as Chief Executive Officer and serves as a non-executive director at Coro Energy plc.
Fiona has an MSc in Sedimentology from Reading University and a BSc in Geology from University College, London. She is a Chartered Geologist, a Fellow of the Geological Society, a Certified Petroleum Geologist (DPA) and is President AAPG Europe (American Association of Petroleum Geologists).
