                  ISLAND OIL & GAS PLC ANNOUNCES BOARD CHANGES

Island Oil & Gas plc ('Island' or the 'Company'), announces today that Howard
Ronald Jones ('HR Terry Jones', 'Terry') has decided to step down as Finance
Director and a Director of the Company with immediate effect.  Terry Jones
joined Island as Finance Director on 1 February 2006.

With effect from today, Commercial Director and Company co-founder, Jack
McKinney, aged 61, will step back into the role of Acting Finance Director, a
position he previously held from the time of the Company's December 2004
admission to AIM up until 1 February 2006.
