Notification of interest in the issued share capital of Island Oil and Gas Plc.

Island Oil & Gas plc ('Island' or the 'Company') (LSE:IOG) has today received notification dated 15th October 2009 from Davy of an increase in its notifiable interest in its holding in the Company. The notification states that, as at 15 October 2009, Davycrest Nominees Limited (as registered owner only on behalf of a range of clients who are each the owner of a portion of the shareholding) holds 4,166,063 ordinary shares of €0.01 each in Island. This holding represents 3.06% of the 135,926,678 shares in issue.
