                           Appointment of a director


The board of iomart Group plc (the 'Company') is pleased to announce the
appointment of Christopher Michael Batterham as a non-executive director with
effect from 14 September 2005.

Chris, aged 50, is an experienced businessman who, after studying Natural
Sciences at Cambridge University, qualified as an ACA with Arthur Andersen.
After six years with BICC, including BICC Data Networks Ltd, where he was
finance director, Chris moved into the software and telecoms sector.

He was a leading light in such companies as Softbridge Ltd., UUNet (formerly
Unipalm Group plc the first internet company to achieve an IPO and where Chris
played a key role in the development of Pipex) and Searchspace Ltd where he has
made significant contributions.

Chris is currently a director of SDL plc, The Sporting Exchange Ltd (Betfair),
DRS Data & Research Services plc, Searchspace Ltd and Searchspace Group Ltd and
the Risk Advisory Group.

In the five preceding years, he has also been a director of Manchester Racing
Ltd, The Mediawave Group Ltd, Assureweb Ltd, Conclusive Logic Ltd, Strathdon
Investments plc, Tibco BPM, Castor Finance Ltd, and Leda Management Ltd.

As at the date of this announcement, Chris has no interest in the capital of the
Company.

There are no other matters which are required to be announced as required under
paragraph (g) of Schedule 2 of the AIM Rules.
