                           DIRECTOR'S SHARE PURCHASE                            
                                                                               
IP Group plc (LSE: IPO) ('IP Group' or 'the Company' or 'the Group'), the
intellectual property commercialisation company, announces that it has today
received notification from Roger Brooke, a Non-Executive Director of the
Company, regarding the purchase of Ordinary Shares in the Company.

The Company was notified on 25 October 2007 that Roger Brooke purchased in
aggregate 50,000 Ordinary Shares in the Company as set out in the table below.
