                        Change of Preliminary Results Date


Previous to an earlier notification, IQE plc, a leading global outsource
supplier of customised wafers to the semiconductor industry, will now be
announcing its Preliminary Results for the year ended 31 December 2005 on Monday
20th March 2006.

A meeting for analysts will be held at 09.30 am at the offices of Buchanan
Communications, 45 Moorfields, London EC2Y 9AE, on Monday 20th March 2006.
