                              DIRECTORS' DEALINGS

IQE plc announces that 666,667 new ordinary shares have been issued in lieu of
an executive bonus. Following this issue the total number of ordinary shares of
1p each in issue is 430,711,156. The new ordinary shares were allotted and
issued as detailed below:

Following this issue Dr Andrew William Nelson's total shareholding in the
Company is 27,394,303 ordinary shares, representing 6.36% of the current issued
share capital.

Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange for the new ordinary
shares to be admitted to trading on AIM. Admission is expected to take place on
Friday, 13 April 2007.
