                          STOCK EXCHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT

Board Committee Changes

Further to the appointment on 11 September 2003 of Mr. Peter Crowley to the
Board, Irish Continental Group plc announces that he has now been appointed to
the Audit, Nomination and Remuneration committees of the Board.  In addition Mr.
John McGuckian has been appointed Chairman of the Audit Committee in place of
Mr. Tom Toner, Chairman of the Board, who is now no longer a member of that
committee.

The composition of the three committees is now as follows;

Audit Committee

Mr. John McGuckian (Committee Chairman); Mr. Liam Booth and Mr. Peter Crowley.

Nomination Committee

Mr. Tom Toner (Committee Chairman); Mr. John McGuckian; Mr. Liam Booth; Mr.
Peter Crowley and Mr. Eamonn Rothwell.

Remuneration Committee

Mr. Tom Toner (Committee Chairman); Mr. John McGuckian; Mr. Liam Booth and Mr.
Peter Crowley.
