Cancellation of Shares held in Treasury

Irish Continental Group plc announces that on 29 August 2012 it cancelled 899,500 non-voting ICG Units previously held as Treasury shares.

Following this cancellation, the Company has no ICG Units held in Treasury and the Company's total issued share capital consists of 24,194,208 ICG Units.

The total number of ICG Units with voting rights is 24,194,208 and this figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the share capital of Irish Continental Group plc under the Transparency (Directive 2004/109/EC) Regulations 2007 and the Rules of both the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority and the UK Financial Services Authority.
