Transaction in Own Shares

Irish Continental Group plc announces that it has made a purchase of its own shares on the market as follows:

Date of Transaction: 26 May 2011.

Number of Shares: 250,000 (two hundred and fifty thousand) ICG Units representing 1.0% of the previously issued shares.

Price: €15.75 per unit.

These shares will be cancelled.

Following cancellation of the above shares, total shares in issue carrying voting rights will be 24,861,708 ICG Units.
