Mercury Recycling Group announces that it was informed on 8 May 2002 that City
Equities Limited purchased, on 8 May 2002, 1,540,000 ordinary 10p shares in the
Company, representing approximately 6.13 per cent. of the issued share capital.
City Equities Limited sold 663,000 of these shares on the same day and now
remains interested in 877,000 ordinary 10p shares, representing approximately
3.49 per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company.
