Philip Crawford is appointed Chief Executive of InterX plc
InterX plc, the internet software technology group, today
announced the appointment of Philip Crawford as Chief
Executive, with effect from 1 August 2000.
Crawford, 48, one of Europe's most prominent information
technology executives, was previously president of operations
at EDS International, the IT services group, where he was
responsible for supporting the company's expansion into
international markets and e-business.
In February of this year, he became Chairman of InterX
Technology, the subsidiary of InterX plc, which was previously
known as Cromwell Media Limited ('Cromwell'), and joined the
Board of InterX as a non-executive director when Cromwell
merged with InterX in April.
Upon his appointment, James Wickes, the current Chief
Executive and founder of InterX, will become Group Marketing
Director.
Richard Jewson, Chairman of InterX, said:
'The appointment of Philip Crawford as Chief Executive is a
critical step in the transition of the Group into a global
software technology business. Philip brings with him a wealth
of contacts and experience which will be invaluable to the
future success of InterX'.
Prior to joining EDS, Crawford was Senior Vice President, UK &
Ireland, for Oracle Corporation. Under his management,
Oracle's UK business grew from some $270 million to almost $1
billion. He was also a member of the Oracle Strategy Planning
Committee. Before Oracle, he held a number of senior
management positions with Bull Information Systems, eventually
becoming Managing Director and CEO for Bull's UK and Ireland
operations. Prior to this, Crawford worked for Management
Science America and for GKN, in both the UK and the USA.
