ITIS AWARDED CONTRACT FROM TRANSPORT FOR LONDON TO SUPPLY REAL TIME TRAFFIC DATA
FOR NETWORK MONITORING
ITIS Holdings plc (ITIS) today announces it has entered into a contract with
Transport for London (TfL) to provide live traffic data into TfL's London
Traffic Control Centre (LTCC) ITIS will provide TfL with its Traffic Alert
Generator (TAG) system that will display traffic speeds across the TfL network
and on other key routes within the M25. The source of this data will be
exclusively from the ITIS Floating Vehicle Data (FVD) system which has a very
high penetration of probe vehicles in the London area. The system will assist
control room staff by continuously monitoring the performance of London's road
network and allow for the early detection of delays.
TAG systems are already used by Hampshire and Essex County Councils and ITIS
expects to add further local authority customers to this list over the next few
months.
Commenting on the new contract with TfL Stuart Marks, Chief Executive of ITIS
said: 'As congestion continues to effect journey times we are delighted that our
real time FVD will be available in TfL's LTCC to assist with monitoring this key
network. This contract further demonstrates the flexibility of FVD and our
ability to support the commercial sector with real time information for services
such as RDS TMC and also the public sector in contracts such as this.
