FORD MOTOR COMPANY RENEWS THREE YEAR CONTRACT FOR RDS-TMC TRAFFIC SERVICE
ITIS Holdings plc ('ITIS') has renewed its contract with Britain's best selling
car brand Ford Motor Company for a further three years to supply its RDS-TMC
(Radio Data System - Traffic Message Channel) service. All models including
Ford's brand new sporty S-MAX and the spacious new Ford Galaxy will benefit from
this service.
The service will be standard on all satellite navigation systems and will allow
drivers to receive real-time traffic information from ITIS, enabling them to
re-route around the worst traffic congestion.
This contract is part of a larger framework agreement to provide this service
across other Premier Automotive Group brands including Land Rover, Aston Martin,
Volvo and Jaguar.
Mark Ovenden, Ford of Britain Marketing Director said, 'The decision to renew
our contract with ITIS for RDS-TMC is a clear example of Ford Motor Company's
ongoing commitment to providing our customers with innovative technology and
providing information to reduce stress on the roads. Customers are increasingly
looking to in-car navigation systems to support their journeys and following the
continuation of RDS-TMC, Ford Motor Company ensure customers receive fully
integrated, real-time dynamic traffic information as an integral part of the
satellite navigation system.'
Stuart Marks, Chief Executive of ITIS Holdings, commented, 'We are delighted
that Ford will continue to use our dynamic traffic information on their
satellite navigation systems. As the market leader in TMC this contract renewal
endorses our high quality traffic information and ability to support leading
vehicle manufacturers.'
