NEW CONTRACT FOR RDS-TMC ON NAVIFLASH NAVIGATION DEVICE
ITIS Holdings plc (ITIS) today announces that it has signed a three year
contract with German based Naviflash GmbH to incorporate its real time traffic
data onto the Naviflash personal navigation system
Naviflash uses the latest navigation database to produce exceptionally fast and
precise route calculations via a large high resolution display. The device which
is quick and easy to install, was successfully launched in Germany in October
2004 and retails in the UK for £499 including UK and Ireland maps and major
routes in 22 countries. Naviflash was recently awarded the prestigious Plus X
award for its intuitive user guidance and built in TMC receiver.
Naviflash is the first portable navigation device in the UK capable of receiving
RDS TMC traffic data via FM radio broadcasts and the system will use Floating
Vehicle Data from ITIS to help users bypass delays as it automatically
recalculates the best routes based on the latest traffic conditions.
Andreas-Markus, Marketing Director at Naviflash said 'We chose ITIS because
their Floating Vehicle Data delivered via RDS TMC offers the best traffic
content via the most convenient delivery method. ITIS are the UK market leader
in RDS-TMC and their unrivalled expertise in this area makes them the most
suitable traffic partner for Naviflash.'
Stuart Marks, Chief Executive of ITIS Holdings Plc said, ' We believe that
Naviflash will be a very successful and market leading product in the UK. It
offers the convenience of navigation with the added value of real time traffic
data. This new product compliments the existing range of voice and data products
that ITIS already offers in the navigation market and confirms our leadership in
this area'
