Baroness Usha Prashar to stand down from ITV Board
After nearly five years on the Board of ITV and having played a leading role in securing the appointment of Archie Norman as Chairman and Adam Crozier as Chief Executive, Baroness Usha Prashar will be retiring from the ITV Board on 31 March 2010, prior to the ITV AGM.
Baroness Prashar is a member of the Iraq Inquiry and Chairman of the Judicial Appointments Commission. At the time of his appointment, Archie Norman asked Baroness Prashar to stay on at least until a new Chief Executive was appointed. With this task now complete and in view of her intense workload from her other commitments, Baroness Prashar has indicated her wish to retire from the ITV Board.
Archie Norman, Chairman of ITV, said "Usha has played a leading role in securing the leadership succession at ITV. Her wisdom, experience, and cool judgement have been a great support to me both before and after I joined. She has served ITV well and leaves with my personal thanks and the thanks of the whole company."
Baroness Prashar said: "After nearly five years at ITV, I feel we now have secured a strong new leadership team and, in view of my other commitments, the time has come to pass on the baton."
