                            ITV SELLS SUPERHIRE LTD

ITV plc has completed the sale of Superhire Limited, a prop hire business,
together with the freehold property it occupies, for a cash consideration of
£8.2 million which will be used to further reduce ITV's borrowings. The
purchaser is Space Holdings Limited, a privately owned company. The sale
represents a further stage in ITV's disposal programme of non-core assets.

ITV has now raised more than £268 million from the sale of non-core businesses
and assets in the last 6 months.

ITV's ownership of Superhire originates from Carlton's acquisition of the
business in 1984.
