Carlton Communications Plc hereby announces the intended cancellation of the
listing of its 6.5p (net) cumulative convertible redeemable preference shares of
5p each on the London Stock Exchange. The last day of trading in these shares on
the London Stock Exchange will be on 3 September 2004 and the cancellation will
take effect from 6 September 2004. A letter formally notifying shareholders of
the cancellation of the listing is being posted today. A copy of this letter has
been submitted to the UK Listing Authority and will shortly be available for
inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document Viewing Facility which is
