Phytopharm plc

Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and to the London Stock
Exchange for a Block Listing of 260,000 ordinary shares of 1p each to be
admitted to the Official List.

These shares, ranking pari passu in all respects with the existing shares in
issue, will be allotted pursuant to the exercise of options and to the rules
of the Phytopharm 1996 Unapproved Discretionary Share Option Scheme.

These shares will not be allotted immediately but as and when the scheme rules
allow.
