Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited (the 'Company') announces that Lord Sassoon will retire from the Jardine Matheson Group on 9th April 2020 to pursue his family and other interests. He will step down from the boards of the Company, Dairy Farm International Holdings Limited, Hongkong Land Holdings Limited and Mandarin Oriental International Limited as of that date.
Lord Sassoon joined Jardines as an executive Director in January 2013, following his earlier successful careers in investment banking, the civil service and as a member of the UK government. For the past seven years he has supported many of the Group's key government and corporate relationships in a range of countries, including China, Indonesia, Singapore, the UK and Vietnam. He has also made valuable contributions as a Director of Jardine Lloyd Thompson and as Chairman of the Group's UK Motors group.
Lord Sassoon has also served as a distinguished Chairman of the China-Britain Business Council, where he continues as President. He also acts as an adviser to the China Investment Corporation and to MUFG, and is a Trustee of the British Museum.
