Johnson Matthey announces Retirement of a Non-Executive Director
and Subsequent Board Changes
Johnson Matthey Plc announces that Hugh Jenkins will retire as a director of the
company at the conclusion of the company's Annual General Meeting on 16th July
2003. Hugh has been a non-executive director of Johnson Matthey since January
1996.
Following Hugh's retirement, Charles Mackay will be nominated as the senior
independent director and Alan Thomson will take over as chairman of the Audit
Committee.
Commenting on Hugh Jenkins' retirement, Michael Miles, Chairman of Johnson
Matthey, said: 'Hugh brought considerable experience and expertise to his role
and made a significant contribution to the development of the company. On
behalf of the Board, I would like to thank him for all his hard work and wish
him the very best for a long and happy retirement.'
