JOHNSON SERVICE GROUP PLC
A.G.M. Statement by the Chairman
Overall results in the first four months of the year have been in line with
the Board's expectations, with some adverse effects from the foot and mouth
epidemic offset by lower than expected interest charges due to the timing of
capital expenditure.
During the period, we completed the last stage of the restructuring of the
management of the drycleaning business, disposed of Johnson Airline Services
for £3.5m and exited the loss making Dublin linen plant.
I remain confident that, provided economic conditions remain reasonably
buoyant, 2001 should be another successful year for the Group.
