SGP Property & Facilities Management Ltd

Facilities Management Services (FM) contract for Johnston Press plc

SGP Property & Facilities Management Ltd (SGP), the facilities management division of Johnson Service Group PLC, announces the award of a national facilities management contract with Johnston Press plc for an initial 3 year term. Total revenue, including throughput, is expected to be £10m over the life of the contract.

Johnston Press is one of the top three local newspaper publishers in the UK, with over 271 local and regional print titles and 297 websites.

SGP's flexible management model, leveraging its network of local and regional suppliers, will deliver a range of hard and soft FM services to 185 Johnston Press properties located throughout the UK and Ireland. The contract will see up to 130 Johnston Press staff currently employed in service areas covering security, catering, cleaning, buildings maintenance, fire safety management and grounds maintenance, transfer to SGP or our network of service partners under TUPE.

A three-month mobilisation project has commenced and the contract is due to go live at the beginning of September 2011.

Kevin Elliott, Managing Director, SGP commented, "We continue to strengthen our presence across the corporate, retail, hospitality, healthcare and education sectors.  SGP combines management expertise with an extensive service partner network to offer clients an alternative approach to the self delivery model that is prevalent across the FM industry. We assist clients through the outsourcing process to help them make the right choices for their organisation, not the choice that suits us."
