Appointment of New Director
The Board of JPMorgan American Investment Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Kevin Carter as an independent non-executive Director of the Company, with effect from 1st July 2014.
Through his various roles within the investment industry, Dr Carter is well qualified to join the Board, having wide experience and technical understanding of fund management, of the management of fund managers and of investment consulting. He has also been involved with closed-end funds for a number of years and is currently on two investment trust boards, including a chairmanship.
He is currently Chairman and Director of Murray International Trust PLC, a Director of Lowland Investment Company plc, Chairman of the Investment Committee and a trustee director of the BBC Pension Scheme. He is also a Director of the Centrica Combined Common Investment Fund Limited, a trustee director of Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited and Chairman of its Investment Committee.
His previous appointments include: a Managing Director and Head of EMEA Pension Advisory Group at JP Morgan Securities, leaving in March 2009. Head of the European Investment Consulting Practice at Towers Watson (previously known as Watson Wyatt) and formerly Chief Executive Officer of Old Mutual Asset Managers in both the UK and the US. He had responsibility for a number of US based fund management businesses at Old Mutual, and earlier in his career was an equity and balanced fund portfolio manager.
Dr Carter is a CFA charter holder and has a doctorate awarded in mathematical statistics with a research subject in financial economics.
