In conformity with the Transparency Directive, we would like to notify the market of the following:

JPMorgan American Investment Trust plc's issued share capital consists of 42,850,949 ordinary 25 pence shares with voting rights.  JPMorgan American Investment Trust plc does not hold any shares in Treasury.

Therefore, the total number of voting rights in JPMorgan American Investment Trust plc is 42,850,949.

The above figure (42,850,949) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, The Mercantile Investment Trust plc under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
