JPMORGAN ASIAN INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

As previously communicated to shareholders, the Chairman, James Long, will be standing down from the Board at the conclusion of the Company's 2017 Annual General Meeting. The Board announces that James Strachan will succeed him as Chairman.

Mr Strachan joined the Board in 2009. He has been Chairman of the Audit Commission, a Member of the Court of Directors of the Bank of England and a Non-Executive Director of Legal and General plc, Care UK plc, Sarasin and Partners LLP, Towergate Insurance Limited, Welsh Water Limited, the Financial Services Authority and Ofgem, as well as Senior Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics in risk and regulation. Previously he was an Executive Board Member of Merrill Lynch International.

As part of its succession planning and in anticipation of the retirement of the Chairman, the Board is also pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Moon as a non-executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.

Mr Moon was chief investment officer of the Universities Superannuation Scheme. He is a current chairman of The Scottish American Investment Company plc and Bell Potter (UK) Limited and is a director of First Property plc and Gresham House plc. He is a former director of MBNA Europe and a former Member of the National Association of Pension Funds Investment Committee.

No further information is to be disclosed in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13 (2) - (6) of the UKLA Listing Rules for Mr Moon.
