THE FLEMING ASIAN INVESTMENT TRUST PLC
The Company today announces its unaudited results for
the year to 30 September 2000.
The Company's fully diluted net asset value per
ordinary share in sterling terms has increased by 35.1%
(capital only) over the year to 30 September 2000
significantly outperforming the Company's benchmark, the
Morgan Stanley Composite Asia Free Index ex Japan in
sterling terms, which fell by 1.9% over the same period.
Over this period the ordinary share price increased by
48.8% as the discount at which the Company trades to its
fully diluted net asset value reduced from 17.3% to
9.0%.
The Directors are not recommending a dividend payment for
the current year.
