PROPOSED BONUS ISSUE OF SUBSCRIPTION SHARES 

The Board of JPMorgan Asian Investment Trust plc is considering a bonus issue of subscription shares to shareholders. The Board believes that over the longer term investment in the Asian (ex-Japan) region will deliver strong capital growth and that subscription shares represent an attractive option for shareholders to subscribe in the future for further ordinary shares in the company.
