The Board of The Fleming Asian Investment Trust plc today announce that
Nicholas Berry will retire as a Director of the Company on 30th June 2001.



The Board would like to thank Mr Berry for his valued service to the Company
since its formation in 1997 and also for his 17 years of service as a Director
of The Fleming Far Eastern Investment Trust plc, which was the predecessor to
the Company.
