LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT

JPMORGAN CHINESE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

CONVERSION OF SUBSCRIPTION SHARES 

JPMorgan Chinese Investment Trust plc (the 'Company') announces that today it issued 79,460 Ordinary shares following a conversion of Subscription shares into Ordinary shares.  

It is expected that the new Ordinary shares will be admitted to listing on the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the main market of the London Stock Exchange on Monday 1st June 2009.

Following the conversion, the Company will have in issue 75,541,461 Ordinary shares, including 4,329,000 held in Treasury, and 14,056,947 Subscription shares.
