JPMORGAN CHINESE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

DIRECTOR RESIGNATION

The Board of The JPMorgan Chinese Investment Trust plc announces that, due to growing ill health, Madam Yujiang Zhao has tendered her resignation from the Board with immediate effect. Madam Zhao has been a non-executive Director of the Company since 1st February 2005.
 
Commenting, William Knight, Chairman said:  "It is with very much regret that the Board has today accepted Madam Zhao's resignation and I speak for the entire Board in thanking her for her service to the Company over the past seven years during which her perceptive insight has been invaluable. Our thoughts are very much with Madam Zhao and her family at this time and we wish her a speedy recovery."
