               JPMORGAN  FLEMING CHINESE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

                              CHANGES TO THE BOARD


The Board of JPMorgan Fleming Chinese Investment Trust plc announces that Sir
Andrew Burns has been appointed as a non-executive Director of the Company,
during a Board Meeting following yesterday's Annual General Meeting.  A career
diplomat, Sir Andrew most recently held the positions of British Consul-General,
Hong Kong and Macau (1997-2000) and British High Commissioner to Canada
(2000-2003)

In accordance with paragraph 16.4 of the FSA Listing Rules a further disclosure
will be made within 14 days.
